John Buck

Tulsa Fire Department Fire Marshall, Captain John Buck, is a 22 year department veteran who most recently graduated from the Tulsa Police Academy as the oldest cadet in its history. Buck has served 11 years on Oklahoma’s USAR team, 8 terms on the Tulsa Fire Wellness and Trustee Board and in 2014, was chosen to serve on TFD’s Peer to Peer Support Team. For the past 12 years, he has presided over the Oklahoman Chapter of the Firefighter Cancer Support Network.
Like most first responders, Buck has had the privilege of a second career. As a former Oklahoma State University Wrestler and lifelong athlete, Buck embarked on a Personal Training career in 1997. Initially, he served as Director of Strength and Conditioning Programs for the Adams Course (Katy, TX | Tulsa, OK) and beginning in 2001, has been Personal Training clients ranging in age from 9 – 91. He holds certifications from the Cooper Clinic, Cross Fit, MovNat, MovNat Combatives and is a purple belt in Jiu-Jitsu.
As a cancer survivor, Buck knows firsthand the incredible challenges life can present and how physical and mental training can help position an individual to overcome difficulties. He believes that physical stamina also includes a sound mind and spirit, and that training is not a competition, but rather a test of one’s own dedication and will.
Forge was born out of Buck’s love for the community of individuals he works with and is inspired by.
